United Way of Marion County is offering free personal budgeting workshops to individuals participating in the Bank on Marion program or looking for building financial skills. 

Marion County residents who are interested in donating funds to work directly with the families, individuals and wildlife affected by the Gulf oil spill can be part of a special two-hour Larry King Live telethon "Disaster in the Gulf: How can you help" today from 8 to 10pm Eastern. Funds can be directed to United Way to assist with people, The National Wildlife Federation to assist with the wildlife and The Nature Conservancy for the environment.

United Way of Marion County will hold the third annual "Day of Action" on Saturday, June 19, 2010. This year's event will focus on helping Marion County families improve their financial situation through budgeting and saving money. 

United Way of Marion County will celebrate its second year results from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program with a 291% increase over last year on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 3 p.m. with community partners at United Way.

United Way of Marion County announces the allocation of funds from the 2009 Annual Campaign. The money will be used to support programs to strengthen families, nurture children, meet basic skills/survival needs and foster self-sufficiency.

United Way of Marion County will continue to offer FREE income tax preparation starting Monday, April 26 through October 15.

United Way of Marion County is accepting applications from high school students who are interested in participating in the Youth United Way program. 

United Way of Marion County recently recognized four volunteers at their annual meeting of the membership event.
