Marion County artists of all ages are invited to draw attention to the impact United Way of Marion County has had in this community for the last half century.

United Way of Marion County's 50th Anniversary Art Contest call to artists, application and submission guidelines are available at www.uwmc.org. There is no fee to enter. Winning entries will be auctioned at United Way's Annual Meeting in March.

Winning artwork will also be displayed on long-term loan at United Way of Marion County, with proceeds from the auction benefiting the nonprofit organization.

The contest deadline, with entries to be submitted electronically, is Friday, March 9.

Artwork will be judged and cash prizes including $200 for Best of Show, will be awarded in two categories: Adult, ages 18 and older for professional and amateur artists, and Youth for all children through age 17.

FAFO will also host a preview exhibit and artists' reception. In order to have artwork included for the preview, it must be delivered to United Way's office by TBA.
