Rapidly linking individuals with the information or resource that best meets their needs. Formerly First Call For Help, this free information and referral service can link people with questions or problems to organizations, agencies or programs that meet their needs. The service, a United Way funded program, is under the management of the Heart of Florida United Way in Orlando.
Trained professionals answer the phones to give callers quick and reliable information about community resources to help with:
- Food, Housing and Clothing
- Youth and Child Care Issues
- Physical and Mental Health Services
- 24- hour Crisis and Suicide Counseling
- Elder Services
- Financial Assistance
- Service for People with Disabilities
- Substance Abuse Treatment
- Job Training
- Where to Donate Clothes
- Support groups
- And hundreds of other resources... Hours of operation are 24 hrs a day seven days a week.
As Marion County continues to experience tremendous growth, the need for agencies and services has grown proportionally. In order to accommodate the needs of the community, 2-1-1 provides a quality information and referral service encompassing a variety of social service, governmental and support agencies in Marion County.
