Are you or a loved one having trouble paying for your rent or utilities due to the COVID-19 Pandemic?

In response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, United Way of Marion County received $10.8 million in Emergency Rental Assistance funds from Marion County to support individuals/families who have been impacted by COVID-19. Specifically for residents of Marion County, the COVID Assistance Program (CAP) provides rent and utility assistance to help support those community members who have been financially impacted by COVID-19.
 
To be eligible to receive assistance, One or more individuals within the household has experienced a reduction of income, incurred significant costs, or experienced other financial hardship due, directly or indirectly, to the COVID-19 outbreak and will be required to submit an application to determine eligibility. Households are eligible to receive assistance for financial obligations incurred after March 2020 and must be at or below 80% of the average median income.
 
Applications will be accepted starting April 1, 2021, those seeking assistance can apply online directly at UWMC.org/CAP or contact United Way of Marion County’s 211 Information and Referral Crisis Line by dialing 2-1-1 or chat online at uwmc.org/211. Applicants needing access to a computer may visit CareerSource of Citrus Levy Marion; or can call 211 to schedule a meeting with a CAP Outreach Team to assist in filling out the application.

As a Marion County Landlord, your tenants may be eligible for rent and/or utility assistance through the CAP Program. If your tenants are eligible for funding, they will be required to select a registered landlord who will be the direct recipient of the rent payments. We are asking our community landlords to take a few minutes to register themselves. To register click HERE

Qualifying individuals/families are urged to apply.  Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis, and are required to be distributed by December 30, 2021. 

Eligability Requirments:

 Marion County Resident
 At or below 80% of the average median income
 Experienced hardship due to COVID-19
 Provide a valid form of ID
