As cashiers, waiters, child care providers, and other members of our essential workforce, ALICE earns just above the Federal Poverty Level but less than what it costs to make ends meet. For many ALICE households, tax season can feel overwhelming and expensive. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers a reliable, no-cost solution to help you file your taxes accurately and keep more of what you earn.
VITA is available to individuals and families who need assistance filing their taxes, including (but not limited to):

Residents of rural communities
VITA provides FREE tax preparation and electronic filing for individuals and families who are in need. IRS-certified volunteers are trained to prepare basic tax returns, so there’s no need to pay for filing services, refund loans, or rapid refunds that can reduce the money you receive.
