Targeted Support to Help Students Thrive
Thrive Tutoring provides students with consistent, targeted academic support to strengthen essential skills and help close learning gaps.
Through a partnership between United Way of Marion County and Marion County Public Schools, Thrive tutors work with students in small-group settings during the school day, providing additional support in reading and mathematics while reinforcing the instruction students receive in the classroom.
How Thrive Tutoring Works
Students are identified for Thrive Tutoring based on FAST assessment data, classroom performance and teacher recommendations. Priority is given to students who are approaching proficiency and may benefit from additional targeted instruction.
Tutoring takes place during designated intervention periods, allowing students to receive additional academic support without missing their core classroom instruction. Students typically work in small groups of three to five, with occasional one-on-one support based on student needs.

Working Together for Student Success
Thrive tutors work in partnership with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and school administrators to keep tutoring aligned with what students are learning each day. Teachers help identify areas where students need additional support, while tutors use district-approved resources and targeted lessons to address those needs.
Student progress is reviewed regularly using classroom checks and district assessments. As students grow, tutoring groups and instructional priorities can be adjusted to provide the support students need most.
