United Way of Marion County: Receptionist – Director of First Impressions


Reports To: Vice President of Finance

Work Hours (Subject to Change):

  • Monday: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Tuesday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Thursday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Friday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM


Position Purpose

Serves as the receptionist at the front desk and supports clerical functions as needed. Provides guests with a positive first impression of the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in the lobby and on the phone.

  • Provide clerical support for program staff.

  • Assist with the Publix Assistance Fund and Duke Energy Fund.

  • Serve as the Director of First Impressions — welcoming, kind, and pleasant to all visitors.


Job Requirements:

Education

High School degree or equivalent.

Experience

Work experience in an office or business environment.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Some knowledge and skill with the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to accurately enter data into systems.

  • Pleasant, friendly demeanor and willingness to support other team members.

  • Strong dependability — arriving on time and ready to greet guests, clients, volunteers, and donors.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Serve as the lead staff member for the Marion County Long Term Recovery Group. The program is designed to prepare Marion County for recovery after a disaster. The position will manage the long-term recovery group's committees, prepare a long-term recovery plan, and provide case management collaboration among the nonprofit sector, local government, and the private sector.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop a community master plan for long-term disaster recovery

Manage the Long-Term Recovery Group and Committees

Secure funding through grants and private funding

Serve as the lead case manager coordinating nonprofit and government resources

Serve as the Emergency Support Function -15 liaison for Marion County Emergency Management

Establish external partnerships supporting long-term recovery efforts and plans.

Serve as the primary liaison to reconstruction teams and the unmet needs committee

 

Program Management

Collaborate with Public and United Way of Marion County leadership

Conceptualize and execute a comprehensive management plan

Create, design, and implement processes and procedures related to program management.

Collaborate with United Way, securing funding from grants and from the private sector

Serve as the public voice for Long-term recovery planning 

Maintain official records and documents

Facilitate and manage standing committees: Case Management, Communications, Construction, Financial, Housing, In-kind support, Volunteer Engagement, and Emotional / Spiritual Health Committee

 

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Three years of case management or project management experience preferred

Relationship management experience

Ability to work in a cross-functional work environment

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and case management software

Access to reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a valid driver's license

Demonstrated excellence in project management, communications, and organizational skills

Integrity and principles of protection of personal information

 

Job Requirements

Some evenings and weekends work required

Must be able to work in a disaster-impacted environment and deploy to local sits with 24-hour post-disaster for up to 2-4 weeks as necessary

Marion County residency required

Successful background check required

 

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, in both oral and written formats, with others in person, by phone, and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare, and analyze data and figures. The employee is required to travel to off-site locations to set up presentations and supplies. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and /or pull objects weighing up to 30lbs.
