Expanded Learning Coordinator

United Way of Marion County is looking for an experienced coordinator with a special interest in working directly with elementary-age students, teachers, and families to organize, communicate, and plan various ongoing projects within the Community Partnership Schools™ program.

 

As Expanded Learning Coordinator for United Way of Marion County's Community Partnership Schools(TM), you will:

  • coordinate and integrate various expanded programs and services offered through the program.
  • develop relationships with community services and businesses to build program awareness of programs.
  • connect students, families, and teachers with needed resources.
  • collect information and data to produce reports and directories required to track the program's progress and inform the community of available resources.
  • coordinate referrals for students needing extended programs because of but not limited to: absences, anger, attention deficit, ESOL, child abuse, family issues, financial needs, food insecurities, homelessness, school supplies, mental health, and vision impairment.
  • interact with all staff and volunteers

  • communicate professionally and clearly in public speaking engagement and in written text.
  • have the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks and projects efficiently and accurately.
  • be open and accepting of working with adolescents, families, professionals, and other personnel from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
  • build community relationships with Marion County social service organizations, students, and families.
  • have flexibility and openness to helping the team in other areas as needs arise.
  • have passion and commitment to helping all students succeed.

QUALIFICATION PREFERENCES

  • Associates Degree
  • 3 years of experience working in a school environment is preferred
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred but not required
  • Experience working with or for a non-profit agency
