Health

For a community to flourish, its members must be healthy. The United Way of Marion County strategically invests in programs that provide adults and children with access to health and wellness care. We are focused on improving the health of children and families through partnerships that promote mental, physical and social well-being for all.

OUR VISION

Marion County residents will have access to programs and services that will enable them to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

TARGET ISSUES

  • Ensuring availability of mental health services.
  • Improving seniors' health by providing access to services so they can live independently.
  • Supporting health education and treatment for children under 18 years of age.

Internal Initiatives

CPS LogoCommunity Partnership Schools

Through the Health and Wellness Program led by Heart of Florida, families at College Park Elementary’s Community Partnership School have access to essential care, right on campus. Each week, low-income families receive medical services, with the benefit of having a professional mental health counselor and licensed clinical social worker offer one-on-one Mental and behavioral health support. By removing barriers to care and meeting families where they are, this partnership is helping students stay healthy, focused, and ready to thrive, inside and outside the classroom.
