Women United selects Author Florenza Lee as Annual Luncheon Guest Speaker

Women United, an affinity group of women philanthropists powered by United Way of Marion County, has selected author Florenza Lee to be the guest speaker at the group’s annual luncheon on November 11. The luncheon is at the College of Central Florida’s Klein Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Florenza Lee is an award-winning author, publisher, narrative coach, speaker, and host of On the Air with Florenza. As founder of Words to Ponder Publishing Company, LLC, she uses the power of storytelling to encourage reflection, literacy, and purposeful change. A longtime advocate for readers and writers of all ages Her newest work, Alchemize Your Story, invites readers to examine the stories that have shaped them and reclaim the power to decide what comes next.

“I am thrilled to come to Ocala and stand alongside women who are investing their time, talent, and resources in the future of children,” said Lee. “Women United is not simply talking about change—it is putting books, mentors, confidence, and opportunity directly into the lives of young readers.”

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Florenza Lee to Ocala so she can share with Women United why literacy is so important,” said Laurie Ann Truluck, chair of Women United. “Her message informs the work we are doing to support ReadingPals powered by United Way of Marion County.”

“Literacy has the power to change the trajectory of a life. A child who discovers the power of words also begins discovering the power of their own voice,” said Lee. “That is why the work of Women United and ReadingPals resonates so deeply with me.”
