MARION COUNTY AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT 
OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS) FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY UNDER THE EMERGECNY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM 
 
OCALA, Fla. (December 24, 2020) – Marion County has been chosen to receive $106,155 for Phase 38 to supplement Emergency Food and Shelter National Board programs in Marion County. 
 

United Way of Marion County to Receive Donation from Publix Super Markets

OCALA, Fla. (September 10, 2020) --- Publix Super Markets of Marion County hosted its annual Tools for Back to School fundraiser held July 22nd through August 2nd. Typically held as a school supply item drive, this year’s fundraiser allowed Publix patrons to donate funds to support low income families and students in providing tools and materials needed for back-to-school. This new style of fundraiser helped participants follow COVID-19 guidelines and protocols, while still supporting the annual drive.   

IRS takes new steps to ensure people with children receive $500 Economic Impact Payments

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Service continues to look for ways to help people who were unable to provide their information in time to receive Economic Impact Payments for their children. As part of that effort, the Internal Revenue Service announced today it will reopen the registration period for federal beneficiaries who didn’t receive $500 per child payments earlier this year.
